The FMCSA has announced the results of an independent study on the validity of scoring the CRASH Basic. They have also announced the study process to study the fatigue related effects of the 34 hour reset. A summary of each is included in this April 2015 Newsletter .
A new free APP called QCMobile is now available to quickly check a motor carrier’s safety performance.
The original intent of the CSA program was always to transition the process to an automatic calculation of a motor carrier’s rating. This Safety Fitness determination is expected to annoounced as a NPRM in April and move to a Final Rule by July 2015. This one will be worthy of a determined comment initiative by everyone in the transportation industry.
